In this session, participants will explore the concept of gender bias, and how identifying it can help to enhance the climate and culture in their classrooms. Participants will learn how understanding how supporting both girls and boys can increase student engagement and success while improving relationships throughout the school.
This session will introduce educators to the power of loose parts play as a transformative approach to early childhood education. We will delve into the powerful role of loose parts play in fostering social-emotional learning in preschool classrooms. Participants will explore the foundational ideas, principles, and theories of loose parts, practical strategies for implementing them to promote SEL skills in the classroom, and the myriad benefits they offer for child development.
“I notice, I wonder” is a student-led seminar in which students discuss their experiences, hardships, and development regarding their identity. The “I notice,” is representative of a student's past and current experiences in the educational system that they want to bring to light. The “I wonder,” is an open and inclusive conversation between students and faculty on the, “Why?” in the classroom. This seminar is a platform for all individuals, inspiring understanding and sparking discussion.
